April Players of the Month Announced
Congratulations to the Region 20 Players of the Month for excellence on the field and track in April 2026. The region recognized six student-athletes from five member institutions.
Men's Lacrosse
Lukas Rozon, Fr., A, Howard CC
Rozon totaled 34 points on 23 goals and 11 assists in April, leading the Dragons back to the Region 20 title for the first time since 2018. The freshman scored nine goals and assisted three others in the Region 20 tournament en route to being named the Offensive MVP of the tournament.
Baseball DI
Jaxon Drennen, Fr., P/2B/DH, Potomac State
During the month of April, Drennen displayed tremendous consistency and power at the plate while providing solid outings on the pitcher's mound. In 20.2 innings of work, he recorded a 2.61 ERA while totaling 40 strikeouts marking a 17.42 K/7 ratio. At the plate, Drennen recorded an .400 batting average, a .534 on-base percentage, a .708 slugging percentage, and a 1.242 OPS. He totaled six home runs, 35 RBIs, 25 runs scored, and was retired on strikeouts just nine times in 65 at-bats during the month. Drennen successfully stole nine bases in nine attempts.
Baseball DII
Noah Broadwater, So., SS, Garrett
Broadwater hit .431 in April to help lead the Lakers to a 13-7 record in April. He hit 10 doubles and three home runs to slug .759, and had an on-base percentage of .550 while drawing 18 walks in 81 plate appearances. Once on the basepaths, Broadwater stole successfully in seven of eight attempts, and crossed the plate 21 times. He recorded six multi-hit games, including a 7-for-8 with 10 RBIs in a doubleheader on April 20th.
Softball DII
Taylor Stapleford, Fr., P, Cecil
Stapleford finished April with a 5-1 record and a 1.58 ERA in the circle for the Seahawks. Against Region 20 competition, she went 3-0 with an ERA of 0.39. Stapleford tossed a no-hitter with 19 strikeouts against Salem on April 8, and struck out 11 of 12 batters against four-year Bloomfield College on April 18, contributing to her 14.86 k/7 average in the month. She recorded 10+ strikeouts in four games with two more nine-strikeout games. At the plate, Stapleford hit .471 with two doubles.
Women's Track & Field
Deborah Oyetunde, So., CCBC Essex
Oyetunde won both the 100m and 200m races at the NJCAA Region 20 Championships. She clocked personal bests in both races, with a 12.12 in the 100m and a 25.05 in the 200m. Both times are top 75 in the country for NJCAA Division I.
Men's Track & Field
Jeremiah Smith, Fr., CCBC Essex
Smith won the 110m hurdles at the Region 20 Championship. He finished second at the Paul Kiser Classic with a personal best time of 14.96. In the triple jump, he finished fifth at the Region 20 Championship and 8th at Paul Kiser Classic with a personal best jump of 13.08m. His 110m hurdles is top 30 and triple jump is top 75 in NJCAA Division I.
