November Players of the Month Announced
Congratulations to the Region 20 November Players of the Month. The Region recognized five student-athletes from five member institutions for excellence on the court during the month of November.
DI Women's Basketball
Amya Goodsell, Fr., F, Harford
Goodsell scored in double digits in all five of Harford's games in November, including a career-high 19 points as a bright spot to the team's 95-59 loss to Mercer County on Nov. 6th. She recorded double doubles against Garrett and CCBC Essex. Goodsell leads Division I in Region 20 in points per game (15.4) and ranks third in field goal percentage (40.8%) and rebounds per game (8.8).
DI Men's Basketball
Jaylen Brown, So., G, Allegany
Brown was a key contributor to the Trojans' explosive start to the season, averaging 13.6 points per game on 54% shooting, including 72% from the free-throw line. He also added 3.9 rebounds, 6.3 assists, and 2.3 steals per game, showcasing his all-around impact. Single-game highlights include a stats sheet-filling nine points, 10 assists, seven rebounds, and eight steals against CC of Morris, and a standout performance of 17 points, eight assists, and four rebounds on 54% field goal and 50% three-point shooting against #25-ranked Dawson CC.
DII Women's Basketball
Gabrielle Corbin, Fr., G, Chesapeake
Corbin averaged a double-double in November with 19.2 points and 17.3 rebounds per game to lead the Skipjacks to a 4-2 mark. She shot 62% from the floor (49-79) and 61.5% from the free throw line (16-26) in the month while adding 3.2 assists per game. Corbin pulled down 23 rebounds twice in November – first against Richard Bland and again against Monroe University-Bronx. She leads NJCAA DII in rebounding and ranks 26th in points per game.
DII Men's Basketball
Shamir Taylor, So., G, College of Southern Maryland
Taylor averaged 28.4 points per game to lead the Hawks to a 6-0 start to the season and a 6-2 record in November. He also led CSM in field goal percentage (49%), three-point percentage (43.4%), free throw percentage (79.4%), steals per game (3.6) and offensive rebounds per game (2.8). Taylor scored 20+ points in all but one game in November, while adding a pair of 30+ point games and a staggering 42-point effort against Tidewater CC, where he shot 60% from the floor (12-20) and sank 15 of 17 free throws (88.2%). He recorded four double-doubles in the month, including three-straight from November 7 through 18.
DIII Men's Basketball
Nicholas DelGratta, So., Butler County CC
DelGratta averaged 27.8 points per game to lead Butler County to a 4-1 start in November, shooting 63.1% from the floor and sinking 31 of 42 free throws (73.8%) in the month. DelGratta opened the season with a triple double of 34 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 steals in a high-scoring win against Bryant & Stratton (Ohio), and had a double-double in three other games, again surpassing 30 points on November 13 at Lorain County CC with 31 on 66.7% shooting (12-18). DelGratta leads NJCAA DIII in scoring average.
